Intermediate & Master Technicians - Multi-point inspections
- PM's, Certifications
- Diagnostics
- A/C & Heater system checks
- Brakes inspection and system check
- Electrical Charging system check
- Clutch lubrication
- Cooling Systems inspections and minor repairs
- Electrical Cranking Systems for charge and perform minor repairs or replacements
- Lighting Systems inspection and minor repairs to wiring and electrical accessories
- Drive Axles inspections and maintenance
- Driveline inspections and lubrication
- Gas Engines inspection and oil replacement
- Fuel Systems inspections and repair of lines and tubes
- Tire and Wheel Maintenance including air pressure check and tread depth; replace if needed with mount and dismount as well as rotation
ADESA Los Angeles Mechanic Classifications The Following eight ASE Automobile and Light Truck Certifications are the recognized Certifications for the Mechanic Technician job classifications:
A1 - Engine Repair
A2 - Automatic Transmissions/Transaxle
A3 - Manual Drive and Axles
A4 - Suspension & Steering
A5 - Brakes
A6 - Electrical/Electronic Systems
A7 - Heating & Air Conditioning
A8 - Engine Performance
To qualify to be hired as an Auto Mechanic II, III, or IV, an applicant
MUST possess the following valid ASE Certifications:
- Mechanic Technician II:- two of the following three: A4, A5, A7 [Pay: $33.50/hour]
- Mechanic Technician III:- A4, A5, A7 plus A2 or A3 [Pay: $36.50/hour]
- Mechanic Technician IV : all eight A1 - A8 [Pay: $38.50/hour]
