Position Summary The Clinical Practice Education Specialist (CPES) is a Registered Nurse with advanced, in-depth knowledge and expertise. The CPES functions as a nurse educator and clinical expert, as well as a clinician, consultant, leader, and researcher. The Clinical Practice Education Specialist for the Operating Room (OR) is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs to enhance the clinical competencies of perioperative staff. This role collaborates with nursing leadership, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure evidence-based practices and high-quality patient care. As a successful candidate, you will: Clinical Expertise: Model excellence in oncology nursing practice, ensuring staff competence and promoting state-of-the-art, patient-centered care. Education & Training: Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs for nurses, patients, and families, aligning with institutional and regulatory standards. Consultation & Mentorship: Serve as a clinical resource, guide nursing staff, mentor professionals, and support competency development. Research & Quality Improvement: Identify practice gaps, integrate evidence-based practices, and participate in research and quality initiatives. Leadership & Collaboration: Drive innovation, facilitate change, and foster an inclusive, learning-focused environment within the organization. Qualifications Master's degree in Nursing Current California RN license Minimum of three (3) years oncology experience or applicable experience in area of specialty Minimum of one (1) year in education (preferred) Specialty Nursing Certification, CNOR (preferred) Salary Range: $68.19 - $109.11/hr (Exempt position, based on experience, qualifications, and work location) City of Hope employees' pay is based on work experience, qualifications, and work location.
