Concrete Laborer Duties

• Assist with site preparation, including setting forms, grading, and layout.
• Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment.
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete under supervision.
• Place reinforcing steel, rebar, mesh, or other reinforcement materials.
• Operate hand tools and power tools such as shovels, rakes, vibrators, and compactors.
• Assist finishers during concrete placement and finishing operations.
• Maintain a clean and safe job site.
• Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.
  

Concrete Finisher Duties

• Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using trowels, floats, screeds, and hand tools.
• Set forms and ensure proper grade, depth, and alignment.
• Apply finishing techniques such as edging, broom finishing, stamping, or decorative textures.
• Correct surface imperfections and ensure high-quality finish.
• Monitor curing of concrete and apply curing compounds as required.
• Read blueprints and specifications related to concrete pours.
• Operate finishing equipment such as power trowels.
• Train or guide laborers as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in concrete labor or concrete finishing preferred.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Comfortable working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Knowledge of concrete tools, equipment, and finishing techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow direction.
