We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to support our dynamic client's finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing cost reports, identifying cost trends, and providing actionable insights into margins and profitability. This role is critical in supporting strategic decisions by offering clear and concise financial data and variance analyses.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare and analyze cost reports, including product margins, cost trends, and profitability metrics, leveraging Oracle.
Perform in-depth analysis of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) inventory valuation, and manufacturing variances.
Monitor and explain fluctuations in revenue, COGS and inventroy ensuring timely identification of significant variances.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate cost structures and support forecasting and budgeting efforts.
Maintain accurate costing records and ensure the integrity of cost accounting data within Oracle.
Identify process improvements in costing workflows and participate in Oracle system upgrades or enhancements as needed.
Support month-end and year-end close activities related to inventory and cost accounting.
Provide insightful reports and dashboards for senior management to assist with strategic planning and operational decision-making.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or product-based environment.
Proficiency in Oracle particularly in costing, inventory, and financial modules.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Advanced Excel skills
