We have an immediate opportunity for a part-time driver in our Frederick, MD location!
BioTrans LLC is a global logistics provider specializing in cold chain transportation, technology and infrastructure for the life sciences industry.
Shift: Sunday Warehouse Duties & Loads & Sorts 2-3 hrs afternoons/early evenings, Monday, & Thursday with early morning variable start times (4-7: 00 am depending on the route). Local and out of state driving.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Safely operate, load, unload and deliver freight utilizing a small box truck or cargo van.
- Adhere to assigned routes and follow time sensitive schedules that require detailed attention.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety.
- Comply with DOT regulations.
- Familiar with E Logs and DOT regulations or willing to learn to use E Logs.
- Ability to navigate surrounding areas using GPS and comfortable with scanning devices.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; fuel the truck as needed; evaluate and report issues through the appropriate parties (dispatch/ managers).
- Clean, wash and sanitize assigned vehicles.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions - While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and fumes or airborne particles. Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling and squatting.
- Extended periods of sitting.
Minimum Requirements and Employee Expectations: - Must be 21+ years of Age
- Current DOT Medical Card or willing to get one.
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable driving record (2 or fewer moving violations in the past 3 years and no DWI/DUI in the past 5 years for insurance purposes).
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
- Ability to use smartphones and willingness to learn our company's workflow-related applications. Tech Savvy.
- Basic computer, tablet and/or smartphone skills and GPS and other routing systems
- Experience driving 14 - 26ft box trucks.
- Be a quick learner, detail-oriented, dependable, have a positive attitude
- Communication proficiency - Able to follow verbal and written directions
- Must NOT be restrictive for access on military bases
