Exercise Specialist (Cardiac Rehab) at Providence Health and Services summary:

The Exercise Specialist in Cardiac Rehab provides direct patient care including assessment, intervention, exercise therapy, and supervision of telemetry monitoring. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, knowledge of cardiac medication and exercise physiology, and certifications like BLS and preferred ACSM certification. This part-time position is located onsite at Providence Alaska Medical Center, focusing on patient education and rehabilitation within a healthcare setting.

Description

Provides direct patient care, assists with coordination of patient education and activity planning. Responsible for patient assessment, intervention, evaluation, education and supervision of ECG (telemetry and non-telemetry), and exercise therapy.

Position is Part Time, 0.5 FTE, Day Shift, 40 hours per week. Located onsite at Providence Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska !

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 1 year experience with emphasis on knowledge of cardiac medication, exercise physiology, nutrition, counseling techniques and patient education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Exercise Science or related field.
  • Upon hire: Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine
