Community Health Alliance is looking for a Medical Assistant Supervisor. Join our talented team of Medical that focus on serving the community and helping those in need by creating healthy outcomes for patients of every income.

We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more.

Job Summary/Objective: The Medical Assistant Supervisor oversees the daily operations and performance of the Medical Assistant (MA) team, ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role combines leadership, training, and operational oversight to optimize clinical workflows, foster professional development, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Acting as a liaison between clinical staff and administrative leadership, the Medical Assistant Supervisor promotes a collaborative, efficient, and patient-focused environment..
  • Salary: $49,090- $73,634
  • 100% company paid employee medical insurance and 90% paid vision and dental on the 60th day from date of hire.
  • Continuing education benefit available at 24 hours & $500 per year
  • Paid Time Off:
    • PTO 15 days/year and increased after one years of service: pro-rated based on FTE status
    • 8 paid holidays per year
  • CHA paid pension plan at 5% of earnings after one year of service; no employee match

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Comprehensive understanding of clinical workflows, infection control, and patient care best practices, including HIPAA compliance.
• Familiarity with state and federal healthcare regulations, including CLIA, VFC, and HRSA requirements.
• Knowledge of the roles, responsibilities, and legal limitations of Medical Assistants.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation standards and preparation for regulatory audits and inspections.
• Ability to lead, coach, and support teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Skilled in onboarding, training, and conducting skills assessments to support professional growth.
• Competent in providing constructive feedback, addressing performance concerns, and recognizing team achievements.
• Strong organizational skills to allocate resources, refine processes, and address operational challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, clinical staff, and leadership.
• Skilled in using EHR systems and basic computer applications for scheduling, reporting, and data analysis.
• Strong critical-thinking skills to resolve workflow bottlenecks and operational challenges effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments to align with organizational goals and improve team dynamics.
• Adaptable to changing clinic needs, including staffing adjustments and regulatory updates.
• High attention to detail to maintain compliance, manage records, and ensure patient care standards.
• Ability to address and mediate team concerns professionally and effectively.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a medical assistant, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in a clinical environment, with knowledge of workflows, patient care, and compliance requirements.
