Operating Room Assistants support surgical teams by preparing and maintaining equipment and materials during and between procedures. They assist with case setup, cleanup, equipment transport, and may specialize as equipment or anesthesia technicians. This role requires basic life support certification and focuses on ensuring efficient and safe surgical operations in a hospital setting.
Description
Operating room assistants will be assigned to teams and Operating rooms to provide support. ORA's will be expert technical assistants within specialty groupings. During cases ORA's will prepare materials and equipment or assure that all materials and equipment are ready for the cases. Between cases, ORA are expected to provide timely assistance. ORA responsibilities will include all activities that are required for case clean up, case turnaround, transportation and any other activities as directed. ORA may function as an equipment specialist and/or anesthesia tech.
