Orthopedic Technician at Providence Health and Services summary:

The Orthopedic Technician assists orthopedic physicians by providing cast application, limb stability, wound care, patient education, and nursing care under general supervision. Required qualifications include completion of accredited orthopedic technical training, BLS certification, and experience in orthopedic or acute care settings. Description

Under the general supervision of the Back Office Lead/Medical Office Manager, the Orthopedic Technician will assist the orthopedic physician in providing casts and/or limb stability, wound care, general patient education, and general nursing care to the maximum extent allowed by their certification and/or licensure.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Completion of an accredited orthopedic technical training program.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • 3 years In an ambulatory/acute care or orthopedic setting working directly in the treatment of the orthopedic patient. 4 years preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NAOT certification upon hire.
  • Meditech and Touchworks (Allscripts) experience.
