Sibley Memorial Hospital is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley’s campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers; and the new patient tower with 200 spacious, private rooms.
Summary:
Under supervision, specialized respiratory care knowledge is applied to assess and recommend interventions for patients with cardiopulmonary issues. Proficient in administering diverse therapies, such as medical gas, humidity, aerosol, hyperinflation, and bronchial hygiene therapies, and managing both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation. Skilled in emergency care and collaborates with healthcare teams to implement tailored multidisciplinary care plans, while fulfilling assigned duties as needed. Initiates, and performs complex respiratory care treatments, and services and provides continuous monitoring of patients and equipment. Works in nursing units, intensive care, emergency rooms, recovery rooms, and other units as assigned. Functions as charge therapist in the absence of a supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
Successful completion of a two year AMA approved school of Respiratory Care with Associates Degree in Respiratory Care.
District of Columbia license of Respiratory Care Practitioner.
CPR certification
Salary Range: Minimum 48.00/hour - Maximum 48.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
