Safety Manager | Fabrication Shop | Industrial Refrigeration

Lyndhurst, VA | Full-time | Onsite

As Safety Manager, you will lead our safety program for an industrial refrigeration assembly operation. Responsibilities include developing and executing prevention programs, conducting job hazard analyses and risk assessments, overseeing incident response and corrective actions, ensuring OSHA compliance, and delivering targeted training. You’ll be a daily presence on the floor, partnering with production to embed a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement.

What you’ll own

• Daily shop walkthroughs, coaching, and safety leadership across all shifts
• Safety training programs: new hire onboarding, hands-on refreshers, and annual certifications
• Incident investigations end to end: scene control, witness statements, document pulls, and root cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions.
• OSHA compliance, internal audits, and clean recordkeeping
• Job Hazard Analyses in the shop: welding, machining, cranes, forklifts, material handling
• Emergency response planning and drills tailored to the shop
• EHS authority: clear policies, straight answers, and on-the-floor coaching

What you bring

• 3+ years EHS in fabrication, metalworking, construction, or industrial manufacturing (open to rising talent)
• Floor presence and credibility with welders, electricians, machinists, etc.
• Clear communication and a trainer’s mindset
• Comfortable reading prints, walking jobs, and partnering with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering to engineer out hazards
• Investigation skills that get to root cause fast
• Audit and compliance discipline

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience in heavy manufacturing, fabrication, or production
• Working knowledge of OSHA and state and federal regulations, applied effectively in real operations
• Mechanical mindset with a focus on optimization, process improvement, and lean principles
