POSITION:

SAFETY MANAGER (FULL-TIME) As the Safety Manager at Ottine Mineral Springs, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for both employees and guests. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety programs, conducting training sessions, and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations. Your expertise will help promote a culture of safety that aligns with our commitment to wellness and exceptional guest experiences. 

This is a full-time position requiring some weekends.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulations and best practices to ensure a secure environment for all staff and guests. 
  • Conduct safety training sessions and workshops for employees, ensuring they are knowledgeable about safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper handling of equipment and materials. 
  • Perform regular safety audits and inspections of the resort premises to identify potential hazards. Prepare reports documenting findings and recommendations for corrective actions. 
  • Investigate accidents and incidents promptly, compiling reports and analyzing data to determine root causes. Recommend preventive measures and follow up on implementation. 
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, assisting with basic inquiries or directing them to the appropriate staff members. 
  • Oversee the inventory and maintenance of all tools, equipment, and machinery. Ensure items are in good working order, promptly remove and replace broken items, and maintain accurate records of inventory and replacements. 
  • Directly supervise Surveillance Supervisors, providing guidance, support, and oversight to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols. 
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices. Maintain records of safety inspections, employee training, and incident reports. 
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans, coordinating drills and training sessions to ensure staff readiness in crisis situations. 
  • Work closely with department heads to promote safety initiatives and provide guidance on safety-related issues, fostering a culture of teamwork across the organization. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related concerns, communicating effectively with employees, management, and external agencies. 
  • Have a thorough understanding of the amenities and directions to / from resort.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions. 
  • Stay updated on safety and emergency procedures as well as OSHA requirements. 

Due to changing operational demands and the need to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to undertake various functions that are not specifically related to this position. This individual may be required to carry out additional tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Additionally, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and modification.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work weekends required.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred. 
  • Two (2) years related experience in hospitality preferred. 
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. 
  • Reliability, punctuality, and professional communication skills are critical. 
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices. 
  • Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in using safety management software and MS Office Suite. 
  • Safety certification (e.g., CSHO, OSHA 30-Hour) preferred. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and act decisively in emergencies. 
  • The Safety Manager will work primarily in an office setting but will frequently conduct site visits across the resort premises. Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate training sessions and emergency response drills. 
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification a plus and / or the willingness to be trained. 
  • The person in this position will need to be comfortable working in an indoor/outdoor use space.

COMPENSATION:

$ 70,000.00 / annually
