Required Skills & Experience

• X-ray Certification
• DAANCE Certification (must be open to obtaining)
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a clinical or oral surgery setting
• Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques
• CPR Certification
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Description

The Surgical Assistant supports oral surgeons during procedures and ensures patient comfort throughout the surgical process. Responsibilities include preparing the operating room, assisting during procedures, sterilizing instruments, and providing post-operative care instructions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and experienced in both clinical and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Surgical Preparation

• Sterilize instruments and set up equipment
• Review patient charts and confirm pre-op requirements

1. Intraoperative Assistance

• Pass instruments, suction, and monitor vital signs
• Maintain sterile field and follow infection control protocols

1. Post-Operative Care

• Provide clear aftercare instructions
• Escort patients and ensure post-procedure comfort

1. Instrument Sterilization & Maintenance

• Clean and sterilize instruments per clinic protocols
• Inspect and maintain surgical tools regularly

1. Patient Interaction & Communication

• Act as liaison between patient and clinical team
• Ensure patients feel informed and supported

1. Administrative Duties

• Update patient charts and record procedures
• Coordinate scheduling, follow-ups, and insurance details
