Job Description
Summary: Busy newspaper warehouse and mailroom position. We are looking for someone to assist our Mailroom Manager processing printed newspapers and getting them in the hands of our readers. This position is scheduled Saturday night through Wednesday night 6 PM to 2 am (+/-).
What you will do: - Oversee mailroom operations, supervise and train staff, optimize workflow, and ensure safety and efficiency
- Set up SLS 2000 inserting machines for nightly production of newspapers
- Stage skids of inserts to be inserted into daily papers
- Set up and monitor Quipp newspaper stackers
- Set up and monitor Flexi-Roll newspaper buffering system
- Program and print skid tags using Excel spreadsheets
- Use our computerized pre-print system to determine what inserts go into our publications
- Load completed skids of newspapers onto delivery trucks; communicate with drivers to ensure that all products are loaded and delivered accurately
- Unload any deliveries of inserts an log into our preprint system
- Light maintenance
What you will bring: - Able to operate a forklift and or motorized pallet jack to move materials within the warehouse
- Good mechanical aptitude, ability to understand and work with machinery and equipment
- Attention to detail, accuracy and precision in handling materials and documentation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and to lift, carry, and move materials throughout the work day
Benefits and Compensation: The hourly wage range is $12.00 - $20.00 + one time sign on bonus.
