Estimator (10930) Who They Are We are working with one of largest home builders in the United States to help them find a building materials estimator to join their growing team in Denver, CO. What You'll Do - Read and interpret blueprints
- Develop accurate material lists including quantity and type of materials to be used
- Ensure conformance to all relevant building requirements and municipality building codes, if applicable
- Interpret design requirements as indicated by procedures, design manuals, and other applicable specifications
- Generate detailed cut sheets for final construction
- Ensure material lists are accurate, optimized, and conforms to standards
- Train new associates to take off software and ERP system.
- Review team members take offs and bids for accuracy.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement; identifies and responds actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers; participates as a team player in all phases of the organization; and is open and responsive to change.
- Assist estimating manager with scheduling and QA processes
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the job role
What You'll Need - Knowledge of residential, multi-family, and commercial construction framing practices, codes, and carpentry
- Ability to complete take offs for framing, siding, roofing, windows, and concrete.
- Knowledge of modular home take offs which include framing, interior/exterior packages.
- General computer knowledge
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with blueprint takeoff software
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints
- Attention to detail, takes pride in quality of work
- Efficient and able to complete assignments within a given deadline
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Communicates effectively with team members
- Strong team work ethic
- Associate degree in related field preferred and at least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
