Estimator (10930)

Who They Are
We are working with one of largest home builders in the United States to help them find a building materials estimator to join their growing team in Denver, CO. The role features a strong compensation package, good benefits, and plenty of opportunities for career growth.

What You'll Do
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Develop accurate material lists including quantity and type of materials to be used
  • Ensure conformance to all relevant building requirements and municipality building codes, if applicable
  • Interpret design requirements as indicated by procedures, design manuals, and other applicable specifications
  • Generate detailed cut sheets for final construction
  • Ensure material lists are accurate, optimized, and conforms to standards
  • Train new associates to take off software and ERP system.
  • Review team members take offs and bids for accuracy.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement; identifies and responds actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers; participates as a team player in all phases of the organization; and is open and responsive to change.
  • Assist estimating manager with scheduling and QA processes
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of the job role
What You'll Need
  • Knowledge of residential, multi-family, and commercial construction framing practices, codes, and carpentry
  • Ability to complete take offs for framing, siding, roofing, windows, and concrete.
  • Knowledge of modular home take offs which include framing, interior/exterior packages.
  • General computer knowledge
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with blueprint takeoff software
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints
  • Attention to detail, takes pride in quality of work
  • Efficient and able to complete assignments within a given deadline
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Communicates effectively with team members
  • Strong team work ethic
  • Associate degree in related field preferred and at least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
